No more unexpected listing changes. Now you'll know exactly when Google attempts to update your business listing details and your customers never see the wrong hours, address, phone numbers, attributes or categories again. Enterprise clients can connect their first-party data sources to surface all data variances across all points of contact.
Most listing management platforms operate on a "publish and hope" approach. They distribute NAP data to directories and simply hope it remains accurate over time. This outdated methodology becomes particularly problematic when managing Google Business Profile (GBP) for large brands and agencies, where Google's practice of updating business information without prior notice creates constant uncertainty.
These automatic changes from Google, while intended to enhance user experience by providing accurate and up-to-date information, can lead to significant issues for business owners operating under the traditional "publish and hope" model. Without active monitoring, these unauthorized changes mislead potential customers with incorrect information, erode trust in your brand, and often require significant time and resources to discover and rectify.
LocalClarity worked with some of the largest retail and hospitality brands in the world to move beyond the "publish and hope" approach by building a new workflow that compares every line item every day to create a dynamic listing audit record. This proactive monitoring ensures businesses maintain control over their online presence rather than simply hoping their information remains accurate.
A new section is available in the Manage Locations module, titled 'Audit'. Clicking into the area will present an entirely new table that presents every record (for the data items listed below) where the Google Business Profile does not precisely match what Google is presenting to the public.
Users can search and filter to just the right data sets and then choose to decide which data set (either the GBP database or the public version) to update for both sources. When a record has been published, the status will go from 'Pending' to 'Updated". When the evaluation process is run again, that different record will not long appear on the report.
We understand that sometimes it make take time to align on certain data sets so we've created an addition state element referred to as "Masked" status. This allows the user to hide different records while they actively work through the challenges.
We're expanding the daily listing analysis to Apple Business Connect and Bing Places for Business.
