This feature scores user sentiment in past reviews by automating topic tagging, sentiment scoring, and emotion detection.
This feature lets users initiate a Retroactive Sentiment Analysis Scan on past reviews, providing deeper insights beyond star ratings by identifying key topics, measuring emotional tone, and tracking trends, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
You can trigger a Retroactive Sentiment Analysis Scan by going to the Settings tab and then clicking on the Review Settings tab.
From there, you're going to want to move over to the Sentiment Analysis tab. Once you are in that tab, you'll see the Retroactive Sentiment Analysis scan.

Once there you can adjust the date range to your preferred length and select the review sources you want to be scanned. Once you trigger the scan, the system will run through each review and auto-tag identified topics from the reviews, assign sentiment scoring on a 5-point scale (extremely negative to extremely positive), and then tag any identified positive or negative emotions expressed.
The platform can process about 1,500 reviews in about 20 minutes, possibly longer if we have multiple scans running concurrently. We recommend selecting the option to 'Notify when completed'. Please contact Client Success if you need to run a scan for more than 10,000 reviews so that we can work to batch the process effectively.
Currently, if a scan is run across reviews that already have sentiment analysis, the process will skip over the review. In a future update, you'll have the power to provide custom instructions for topic clusters and the option to override existing sentiment scoring.
