A guide to navigating LocalClarity's RealityCheck™ module in order to accept and reject suggested edits to your listing information
Summary
LocalClarity’s newest tool RealityCheck™ provides instant visibility and action for solving discrepancies between your official business data, Google’s, and Apple Maps’ data that is presented to the public.
By performing daily automated cross-check comparisons, the system identifies misalligned listing details (often sourced by Google from user suggestions or social media) allowing you to correct errors before they impact customer experiences or become elevated as training data for AI search engines.
Understanding the Data Discrepancy Landscape
Google currently maintains over 100 distinct data points for your listings. To populate these, they will often look beyond your authorized uploads to indexed articles, reviews, and online databases for fresher, relevant data.
These "suggested" updates are then published to the web presentation layer of your listing. Note that this does not change your official data, it only overrides the presentation.
RealityCheck™ monitors every discoverable field, including:
- Core Info: Location Name, Address, Phone, Website URL
- Operational Data: Regular/Store Open Hours, Primary/Additional Categories
- Enhanced Content: Attributes, Social Media Links, "Located In" relationships
The Resolve Workflow
The Resolve Workflow is a guided, structured path designed to help you resolve discrepancies without leaving the platform. There are two ways to navigate this process.
1: Single Record Resolution
Use this path for granular control over specific location updates.
- Navigate to the RealityCheck™ main table.
- Scroll to the right of a flagged discrepancy to locate the Resolve buttons.
- Click Resolve to open the comparison panel.
- Review your "Source of Truth" (1st Party Data) against the "Public Value" (Google or Apple).
- Take Action:
- Option 1: Keep Google Business Profile Record. This pushes your 1st party data to override the public listing information.
- Option 2: Accept Suggested Edit. This ingests the platform's suggestion and pushes it to your listing.
2: Multi-Record (Bulk) Resolution
For multi-location or enterprise-scale updates, utilize bulk processing to align data across a number of listings.
- Filter the table by a specific Discrepancy (e.g., "Hours") and Field. You can do this by clicking the card of the data point you wish to see.
- Select the multiple listings you wish to update.
- Resolve the multiple selections and align all selected records with your authorized data source in one click.
Cross-Platform Monitoring (Google & Apple)
RealityCheck™ now includes Apple Business Connect integration. You can now filter for discrepancies specifically within Apple Maps or compare them against your Google Business Profile (GBP) database.
- Triage Tools: For high-volume remediation, you can "Mask" records for later investigation or clear them from the table to keep your workflow focused on immediate priorities.
- Data Retention: Update records are available for 60 days, providing a transparent audit trail of your listing corrections over time.
