Google has rolled out an improved email notification system for Google Business Profile users whose verification attempts have been unsuccessful. The new emails now clearly outline specific reasons for verification failure and provide detailed guidance on how to address these issues.
The email now explicitly states when a verification video is inadequate, with language such as: "Your verification video didn't meet all of the requirements. Review the list below to make sure your new video includes all the required information."
The revamped emails include specific requirements that must be met for successful verification:
- Demonstration of the surrounding area, including street signs or neighboring businesses, to confirm the location matches the registered address
- Clear display of the business name on permanent fixtures like signboards, which should match the name provided during registration
- Evidence that the location is legitimately authorized to represent the business, such as showing someone unlocking the entrance, operating the cash register, or accessing staff-only areas
This update represents a significant improvement to the verification process, providing business owners with a more clear guidance and reducing frustration when verification attempts fail.
