Google officially launched Ask Maps on March 12, 2026, bringing a Gemini-powered conversational experience to Maps in the United States. As of April 1st India now has access to this feature on Android and iOS, with desktop coming soon. Rather than typing keyword searches, users can now ask complex, multi-condition questions to get curated, personalized results pulled from over 300 million places and 500 million community contributors.
The feature also replaces the old Q&A section on Google Business Profiles, which was quietly deprecated in late 2025 after years of reliability issues caused by unverified user answers. "Ask Maps" draws directly from your Business Profile data, customer reviews, and listing attributes to answer customer questions instantly — making a complete, accurate profile more important than ever for local visibility.
