Understand each of Google's review statuses for both reviews and review replies.
On LocalClarity, review tracking is split into two layers: Review Status (the overall state of the review thread) and Reply State (the moderation state of your response at Google).
Review Statuses (Overall Workflow)
Open: Review without a reply, waiting for action.
Needs Assistance: Internal workflow status indicating a review needs team review or escalation. This setting is applied by a user within the profile.
Closed / Archived: Review was archived by a user in the profile.
Removed from Google: The customer or Google deleted the original review; the review is no longer available.
Reply States (Google Moderation)
Pending: A reply to the review has been submitted and is awaiting Google’s moderation. LocalClarity automatically polls Google in optimized intervals at 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 3 hours post-submission. This resolves ~90% of pending replies within that window.
Published: The reply passed moderation and is live on your public Google Business Profile.
Rejected by Google: Google blocked the reply. This is usually due to Google account/location restrictions (~90% of cases) or specific words flagged by content filters (~10% of cases).
Reply Outdated: The customer edited their original review after you replied which may recontextualize your response and make it irrelevant.
